Sensitive Pure Beef is 100% beef, meat and nutrient-rich offal, with no soy or vegetable additives. An honest single-protein wet food for dogs who need a short, named ingredient list.

Because the tin contains one animal protein and no soy, grain or vegetable additives, it suits sensitive stomachs and controlled single-protein diets, and it is gentle enough for daily feeding. Essential vitamins and minerals make it a complete food.

  • 100% beef, single named protein
  • No soy, grain or vegetable additives
  • Complete and balanced wet food
  • For sensitive stomachs and controlled diets

Why single-protein beef?

Beef is not a rare protein, and it would be misleading to sell it as one: it is among the commonest meats in dog food and among the commonest things dogs react to. What makes this tin useful is the opposite of rarity. Almost every beef food on the shelf blends beef with chicken, pork or unnamed meat and animal derivatives, so an owner whose dog does well on beef still cannot easily buy beef on its own. This is beef on its own.

That matters in two situations: a dog who has finished a diet trial and come out tolerating beef, where you now want that one protein and nothing else; and a dog with an easily upset stomach, where a short ingredient list is doing most of the work. If you are at the start of an exclusion diet rather than the end of one, a genuinely rare protein is the better place to begin, and our guide to novel protein dog food explains which ones those are.

About Happy Dog

Happy Dog is a German family brand made in Wehringen, Bavaria by Interquell, with pet-food expertise dating back to 1965. The Pure range follows one rule: one protein, nothing else. No soy, no grain, no vegetable fillers, no hidden meats. That sounds austere, and it is, deliberately. It exists so that a vet or an owner running an exclusion diet knows precisely what has gone into the bowl.

Questions, answered

Is this a complete food or a topper?
Complete and balanced, with added vitamins and minerals. Feed it as the whole meal or mix it through a dry food.

Which dogs is it for?
Dogs with sensitive stomachs, dogs on a controlled single-protein diet, and any dog who tolerates beef and needs a food with a short, named ingredient list.

Is beef a good choice for a food allergy?
Only once beef has been ruled out as the trigger. Beef is one of the proteins dogs most often react to, so for a first exclusion trial a rarer protein such as ostrich, horse or kangaroo is the better starting point. Worth a word with your vet either way.

How do I switch my dog onto it?
Gradually, over about seven days, mixing a little more in each day. A slow change is kinder to a sensitive stomach and makes any reaction easier to spot.

How much should I feed?
Start with the guide on the tin and adjust to keep your dog at a healthy weight. Always leave fresh water down.

How should I store an opened tin?
Cover it, keep it in the fridge and use within about two days. Serve at room temperature rather than fridge-cold.

When will it arrive?
Dispatched within 1 to 2 working days, with free UK delivery on orders over £30.
