Pure Horse is 100% horse meat and offal, one of the rarest proteins available, and often the food that finally works for dogs that react to everything else.

A single novel protein with no soy, grain or vegetable additives makes this the cleanest possible elimination-diet tin, complete with vitamins and minerals.

  • 100% horse, one of the rarest novel proteins
  • No soy, grain or vegetable additives
  • Complete and balanced
  • For multi-allergy dogs and elimination diets

Why horse?

This is usually where owners end up after chicken, beef, lamb and fish have all been tried and the itching has not stopped. Horse is rare enough in European pet food that most dogs have genuinely never eaten it, which is what an exclusion diet needs: a protein with no history. It is also lean and highly digestible, which helps when a gut has had a difficult few months.

If you are feeding the dry Happy Dog Montana horse kibble, this is the same protein in wet form, so the diet stays single-protein throughout.

About Happy Dog

Happy Dog is a German family brand made in Wehringen, Bavaria by Interquell, with pet-food expertise dating back to 1965. The Pure range follows one rule: one protein, nothing else. No soy, no grain, no vegetable fillers, no hidden meats. That sounds austere, and it is, deliberately. It exists so that a vet or an owner running an exclusion diet knows precisely what has gone into the bowl.

Questions, answered

Is this a complete food or a topper?
Complete and balanced, with added vitamins and minerals. Feed it alone or mixed through a dry food.

Which dogs is it for?
Dogs that have already reacted to the common proteins, and any dog on a vet-directed elimination diet needing a genuinely rare protein.

Can I feed it alongside dry food?
Yes, and pairing it with the Montana horse kibble keeps the whole diet to one protein, which is the point of an exclusion trial.

How do I switch my dog onto it?
Over about seven days, increasing the proportion gradually. A slow change is gentler on a sensitive stomach and makes any reaction easier to attribute.

How much should I feed?
Use the guide on the tin as a starting point and adjust to keep your dog at a healthy weight. Always leave fresh water down.

How should I store an opened tin?
Cover it, refrigerate and use within about two days. Let it warm to room temperature before serving.

When will it arrive?
Dispatched within 1 to 2 working days, with free UK delivery on orders over £30.
